Homemade Air Fryer Donuts Recipe

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

    Instructions

    Making the Dough

    1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    2. In a separate bowl, mix together melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
    3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
    4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 1-2 minutes until it forms a smooth ball.
    5. Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.

    Shaping the Dough

    1. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness.
    2. Use a 3-inch round cookie cutter to cut out the donut shapes.
    3. Use a 1-inch round cookie cutter to cut out the donut holes.
    4. Place the donuts and donut holes on a sheet of parchment paper.
    5. Cover and let the donuts rest for 10-15 minutes.

    Air Frying the Donuts

    1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
    2. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
    3. Place the donuts and donut holes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they do not touch.
    4. Cook the donuts for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side.
    5. Remove the donuts from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes.
    6. Repeat the cooking process until all the donuts and donut holes are cooked.

    Tips and Tricks

    • If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.
    • If the dough is too dry, add a little more milk.
    • You can use a piping bag to pipe the dough into the donut shapes instead of rolling it out.
