This chicken salad with grapes is the perfect summer salad. Bring it along to a potluck, BBQ, or holiday gathering and serve it up on a crisp lettuce leaf or sandwich bun. I make this chicken salad often and eat it straight from the bowl!
With summer upon us, I eat all different types of salads. Besides this chicken salad, one of my favorite potluck take-along is my broccoli salad. Oh and of course, Nana’s Macaroni Salad!
Chicken Salad with Grapes Recipe
I remember the first time I tried a chicken salad recipe with red grapes in it. I had never heard of this combination.

Ingredients for Chicken Salad with Grapes
- 3 c. cooked chicken (or 3 cans)
- 1 1/2 cups red seedless grapes halved
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 1/3 cup sliced green onion
- 3/4 cup light mayonnaise (you could try substituting Greek yogurt if you prefer)
- pinch of dried ginger
- 1/2 tsp. salt (or salt and pepper to taste)
Note: Many recipes use pickle relish, but I prefer onion and celery. You could certainly use pickle relish if you prefer.
Kitchen Tip:
- For this recipe, you can use a store-bought rotisserie chicken, leftover shredded chicken or cooked chicken breasts. I prefer the ease and convenience of a rotisserie chicken. Simply cut the breast meat off the bird and cut it into cubes. I use the remainder of the chicken to make enchiladas.
- I enjoy eating this chicken salad right out of the bowl, but if you are serving it at a potluck or bridal shower, serve each serving on a bed lettuce.
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Chef’s knife
- Cutting board
- Large bowl
